what is the story about?
If you do not mind, I will let you know tomorrow, after I post the last two images related to this short story. (I am still leaving five other illustrations aside, though...)

i tried to find it myself but was not successful
i thought maybe something like madama butterfly from the images today
It would not be easy to find any information on the short story... Celestino Gomes is a secondary author, long forgotten, even in Portugal. The story intersects two plots - one, the movie script : Iruchi-Ko, the female character, falls in love with an aviator (Portuguese aviators had reached Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, in 1922, and Macao in 1924); the other, a love story taking place in Leça and Oporto, northern Portugal, between the female actress, Sayona-San, and a cameraman. The actress ends up comitting suicide not to give birth to an ainoko (as you know, but probably not many of these blog readers), an outcast resulting of an interracial relationship... The story details draw a lot from the images of Japan that Portuguese author Wenceslau de Moraes (for some Japanese academics, as important as Lafcadio Hearn) fostered since the early 1900s in his works.
that's so interesting--thankns for taking t he time.
now you have given me more things to research.
